Description
(Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved) On the Florida Gulf Coast, near Port Charlotte on Gasparilla Island, you will find this beautiful old lighthouse and museum. It was built in 1890 and maintained by keepers until it was automated in 1956. Legends say it is still haunted today by two ghosts. An early light keeper's daughter died of an illness there, and Spanish Pirate Jose Gaspar killed a Princess that he had kidnapped and loved, after she rejected him. He buried her near this place years before it was built, and then in remorse, remained here until his death. So, when visiting this beautiful place be sure to look and listen for the two ghosts of the ... Boca Grande Lighthouse.
